To help you sort through all the alternatives, we have put together a quick “all you need to know” guide for boat rentals on the French Riviera.
All You Need to Know – Renting A Boat.
What is a RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat)?
A RIB is an inflatable boat with a rigid hull. These boats are robust and designed to provide hours of exhilarating pleasure on the water at high speeds. They make water activities and wave navigation a breeze. One thing to note is that it is unlikely that a RIB will have a toilet onboard.
What is a Tender/chase Boat?
A Tender can be used for a variety of things, including delivering passengers to the beach in case the larger yachts don’t have a place to berth. Tenders and chase boats are becoming increasingly popular as stand-alone rental boats, and customers frequently opt for this option due to the convenience of being able to reach smaller, more distant sites – as well as the fact that they are great for water sports.
Tenders like the Cranchi 41 is available for rent from Rent A Boat.
What is a Superyacht?
Superyachts are all glitz and glam when it comes to the yacht family. Superyachts have a professionally trained crew on board, which is generally offered for rental to ensure an exceptional level of service is provided to its guests. Comfort, speed, and/or adventure capabilities are all possible goals with a superyacht.
Chartering a private boat gives you the freedom to do anything you choose, whether it’s to unwind, explore, gather your friends, or celebrate. We would recommend you book the Fairline Squadron 52 and Princess V50.
You can count on us at Rent a Boat to get to know what your group wants and needs so that we can craft a custom schedule to meet your desired experience. Our cruise ship has it all – from high-tech water toys to an onboard vegan chef, to the most exclusive tickets you can get your hands on.
Looking for a Day Boat?
Many larger yacht charter businesses, only offer weekly rentals, however, Rent a Boat offers a wide range of day and half-day rentals for yachts and boats. Day rental schedules differ from boat to boat, but we are pleased to work with you to find a time that suits you best. The Cannes Islands, Monaco, and Saint Tropez are all popular day-charter locations on the French Riviera.
What is a Bareboat Charter?
A Bareboat Charter refers to a boat that has no captain or crew on board. As the boat’s safety officer, you get to be the captain for the day! Depending on the region of your bareboat charter, you may be required to present proof of past boating experience and/or certification. Driving a boat with more than a 50-horsepower engine is illegal on the French Riviera unless you have a current boat driver’s licence.
Are there any additional fees or charges that I should be aware of?
It is Rent a Boat’s goal to inform you of additional expenses before you finalise your charter, if feasible. Costs, on the other hand, might fluctuate based on your schedule and special demands. The cost of renting a boat is included in the charter charge. Provisioning, gasoline, and mooring/berth fees are three key expenses that customers should be aware of. Linens can be rented on bigger vessels for an additional fee (if you require them). Rent a Boat can give you a rough quote based on your plans. Please read our FAQs page for further information and a more precise price estimate. However, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
We hope that you will find this information regarding hiring a boat to be useful. Sit back, relax and enjoy your holiday and let Rent a Boat take care of everything.
